Door Hangers
Note: There are several states in which you may only use company materials for marketing the membership.

Leaving information at someone door is also an effective marketing strategy. That is why Pizza companies use this strategy on a consistent basis.

Susie and Bob Dickinson, FL - For our door hangers we have used bright yellow copy paper and also tried using card stock-- but could only find pastels in the card stock and they don't stand out as much. You get more copies using the regular paper because there are 500 sheets per ream versus 250 sheets in the card stock ream and the card stock isn't as easy to tear as the copy paper.

We go into the local Office Depot, select the paper we want, take it to the photo copier and do our own copying.  We have them cut the flyers for us in their copy center which saves us a lot of time!  They charge us for the reams of paper and we get a small savings on the copies because we are buying the paper and not using the paper in the copier.  Of course we use the credit card we have on file with Office Depot through AmeriPlan (log in to your back office at www.AmeriPlan.net more information about the wonderful IBO Benefits and discounts we get) and we get a significant savings (about 40-50%) each time we have them printed.

At home we use a small desktop 2-hole punch which we've adjusted so we only make one hole in the center, 1/4" from the top of the flyer. This method is much easier than using a hand held 1-hole punch. We use Office Depot's rubber bands, size 19, and they are threaded through the hole with one end of the rubber band slipped over the other end and pulled tight to secure it to the door hanger.

My 86 year old mother, Lois Shoot, is shown in the picture as she sits on her chaise threading rubber bands thru a hole we've punched into the flyer to make them door hangers!  Bless her heart for all her help!!

We use this method to make door hangers and we hang them on door knobs at apartment complexes in our area.  If the complex has a NO SOLICITATION sign posted we leave and go to the next complex.  Bob & I put a stack of these flyers in a light weight canvas bag with shoulder straps.  We each have our own bag as many of the buildings have several floors, which we split.  We stay at the same building but I may take floors 4-5 while he does 1-2 and we meet on the 3rd floor to finish up. Or if we have several 2 story buildings we alternate climbing the stairs.  We get lots of good exercise, fresh air, and we get to share AmeriPlan this way!

So for the May promotion I made the flyers like I always do but, using a regular red Sharpie, I circled the "$19.95/month" and wrote "FREE" above the word "household" to catch their attention.  Below the same word "household" and using an ultra fine red Sharpie I wrote "for month of May only!"
